May 5 - Riding the rails

Still travelling.
A long night and particularly thrilled about the woman who got on after midnight and proceeded to make loud phone calls.

Arrived in Sydney at 7.30 and set off in search of breakfast. Joe wanted noodles, but I managed to convince him that a more conventional breakfast was in order.  We ended up at a cafe just round the block from Latitude East.

We then walked over to Hyde Park where we had a rest  in the sunshine. Joe was particularly entertained by some 20 somethings who appeared to be having a nightclub recovery session in the park. One attractive lass decided to sun bake sans most of her clothing. Sorry no photos can be shown here as they breach ATO values.  At this point we had to leave to catch the next train.  Bugger.

We went back to Latitude East to see Vince, but he wasn't there.  Why is he never there when I go to see him.  OK, so it was Saturday but still...  Joe was so disappointed he decided to stage a lie in.  But he didn't last long, so we went shopping for something for tea on the train and headed off for the station.
People waiting for freight train to be moved

We got on the train at 11.35. both commenting what a smooth operation it was. Unfortunately we were stopped at Dungog and had to wait for broken down freight train to be moved. After 75 minutes we were on our way again finally reaching Coffs at 9.45 pm.  Once off the train we spent time hastily reassembling the bikes and then headed off to the youth hostel.

  1. Feel free to post any pictures of anything/body in future as it would appear the internet police from work are onto you and am unable to check the blog from work!. Might be just me - might be the Internet explorer Ver 0.1 (beta) running on Windows 3.0 (circa 1989) that I think our machines run on at work - well something like that anyway.....
